I ask myself if it should be better to have width adjustable to fix it (for example 100 or 80 px) and width in automatic or using the same limit than the width, depending if it's a vertical picture or horizontal picture.

Only a suggestion watching the behaviour of the forum's example I gave you or another forum I know (but with Vbulletin for the second). :?:

Or maybe just a fixed width to be determinated (to have the same width for all horizontal pictures) and a fixed height like now (just centered if it's a vertical picture). Vertical picture will be smaller but viewforum will seem better.

the height is allready max. 70px (width is automatic) or what u mean

oh, i dont see your last message, it goes with width or height. both are not possible.

and a function which wizards it to middle is to complex for this little mod.

Ok. :)

Just to give you the other example I was telling about (Vbulletin here):

http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums ... ay.php?f=2

Maximal width is always the same: 100px and same thing for vertical pictures: 100 px, depending what kind of picture it is.

But it's correct if both are not possible (and I think it will be more beautiful to have the same height for each topic on viewforum page). That's why I talked about a third possibility: a fixed width to have for example always thumbs 100px width (like in your new example) and not 97 px, 101px or 105px like just before with horizontal pictures... Vertical picture would stay like now, juste maybe on center and not on the left.

just a thought

My idea is not good:

If the width is limited to 100 px, vertical picture will be much bigger because of the impossibility to limit both...

ah, u mean a centered-pic in a white (or whatever coloured) box? so it's more attractive?
and than max-height (and auto-width) or max-width (and auto-height) as u desired and as it made allready here?

i find
Quote:
max-height (and auto-width)
combined with

a centered-pic in a white (or whatever coloured) box
the best optical solution :geek:

but its a matter of taste, if
Quote:
max-height (and auto-width) or max-width (and auto-height)

it's your choice
